Mediation Services

MEDIATION SERVICES:

Mediation is a structured conversation facilitated by a moderator whose focus is to guide persons in conflict towards mutuality of understanding and achieving an amicable solution/resolution.

  • Self-Referred: generally, family members, friends, or co-workers, who are having trouble communicating or relating with one another due to an ongoing dispute or feud and desire to repair the relationship.
  • Court-Referred: persons are referred to services to discern a reasonable resolve to a disagreement which has impacted their ability to work cooperatively, and it is imperative for them to have a working relationship. Participants include divorced parents who share parenting responsibilities.
  • School Attendance: endorsed by the Wabash County Court and the Probation Department, in support for their Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, promoting improved attendance for students who are at-risk of falling behind or dropping out of school.
